שי אשכנזי סיים את לימודיו לתואר ד״ר לרפואה באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים, ולאחר סיום ההתמחות ברפואת ילדים בארץ, הוא עשה תואר מוסמך במחקר על היצמדות חיידקים במכון ויצמן למדע, ויצא ל־post–doc במשך 3 שנים ביוסטון (טקסס, ארה״ב) בתחום של מחלות זיהומיות. תחומי המחקר העיקריים שלו כוללים זיהומים חיידקיים ועמידות לאנטיביוטיקה, תגובת המאכסן לזיהום ופיתוח חיסונים חדשניים, ובמקביל התמקדות בחינוך רפואי.

שי היה במשך כ־20 שנים מנהל מחלקת ילדים א׳ במרכז שניידר לרפואת ילדים, ובמשך כ־40 שנים איש סגל בכיר בפקולטה לרפואה באוניברסיטת תל אביב, מהם 20 שנים כפרופסור מן המניין ומופקד הקתדרה למחקר פדיאטרי, וכן חבר הדיקנאט וועדות מורים־תלמידים, הוראה ומינויים בפקולטה. הוא כיהן ומכהן בתפקידים ציבוריים, כגון יו״ר האיגוד הישראלי לרפואת ילדים, חבר המועצה הלאומית לבריאות הילד, יו״ר המועצה המדעית בישראל, יו״ר ועדת ההשתלמות של האיגוד האירופאי למחלות זיהומיות בילדים וחבר וועדת ההשתלמות של האיגוד העולמי למחלות זיהומיות בילדים.

לשי 280 פרסומים מדעיים, 30 פרקים בספרים ועריכת שני ספרים. הוא זכה ב־30 מענקי מחקר, ובהם מענקים מהמרכזיים הלאומיים לבריאות בארה״ב (NIH), תכנית המחקר (FP–7) מטעם האיחוד האירופאי, הקרן הדו־לאומית למדע ישראל־ארה״ב (BSF), המדען הראשי ועוד. מוזמן כמרצה לכנסים לאומיים ובינלאומיים וחבר במערכות של עיתונים מדעיים בארץ ובעולם. זכה בפרסים על מחקרים מצטיינים, מורה מצטיין ורופא מצטיין ומדליה על תרומה לחינוך רפואי מטעם האיגוד האירופאי למחלות זיהומיות בילדים.

מחודש אוקטובר 2018 שי הוא הדיקן המייסד של ביה״ס לרפואה באוניברסיטת אריאל.

Shai Ashkenazi completed his medical education and residency in pediatrics in Israel and a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases in Houston, Texas, USA (1987-90). His research expertise includes the molecular and cellular pathogenicity of infectious diseases, novel antimicrobial agents and novel vaccines. He is currently Professor of Medicine and Dean at the Adelson School of Medicine, Ariel University; Chairman of the Israel Pediatric Association, member of the National Council for Child Health and member of the Education Committee of the World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Ashkenazi is a member of the Editorial Boards of several national and international medical journals, a co-author of over 280 medical publications, over 30 chapters in books and Editor of the Hebrew Textbook of Pediatrics (9 editions). He has received dozens of research grants, including from the NIH (USA), European Union (FP-7), Chief Scientist, the USA-Israel Bi-national Science Foundation (BSF), pharmaceutical companies, and the Education Award of the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases.

פרופ׳ ברק מדינה, רקטור האוניברסיטה העברית, מכהן בקתדרה לזכויות האדם ע״ש השופט חיים כהן בפקולטה למשפטים. הוא כיהן כדיקן הפקולטה למשפטים של האוניברסיטה העברית והמנהל האקדמי של התכנית לצדק מעברי. פרופ׳ מדינה הוא בעל תארי בוגר במשפטים ובוגר ומוסמך בכלכלה באוניברסיטת תל אביב, מוסמך במשפטים באוניברסיטת הרווארד ודוקטור לכלכלה באוניברסיטה העברית. הוא כיהן כפרופסור אורח באוניברסיטאות קולומביה (בניו־יורק) וברקלי.

פרופ׳ מדינה עוסק במחקר ובהוראה בתחומים משפט חוקתי ודיני זכויות אדם, וכן בניתוח כלכלי של המשפט. הוא חיבר שבעה ספרים, לרבות הספר היסודי במשפט חוקתי של מדינת ישראל (עם אמנון רובינשטיין) וספר מקיף על דיני זכויות האדם, וכן למעלה מ־50 מאמרים בכתבי עת אקדמיים.

Professor Barak Medina, the Rector of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, holds the Justice Haim Cohen Chair in Human Rights at the Faculty of Law. He is a former Dean of the Faculty of Law, and the Academic Director of the Program on Transitional Justice at the Law Faculty. He is a graduate of Tel-Aviv University (LLB, BA and MA), Harvard Law School (LLM), and the Hebrew University (PhD), and served as a Visiting Professor at Columbia University in New York and University of California Berkeley.

Professor Medina’s research interests include Constitutional Law and Economic Analysis of Law. He authored seven books, including the latest editions of the most authoritative book on Israeli Constitutional Law, and a book on Human Rights Law in Israel, and published more than fifty academic articles.

Dean of the Biomedical Engineering Department at the Technion and a member of the Israel National Council for Bioethics. Conducts research on Stem Cells and Tissue-Engineering. Did my Ph.D. at the Weizmann Institute and my post-doctoral research at MIT. Received the Krill Prize for excellence in scientific research by the Wolf Foundation, and was named by Scientific American as a “Research Leader” in Tissue Engineering.

Before that, I worked as an accountant at the university’s finance department (for about six years) and as an audit manager at Har Noi and Tubul Accounting firm. In my army service, I was an officer in an elite unit in Golani.

I Live in Tsur Yigal-Kochav Yair and am married to Orna, with four children: Adi, Elad, Reut, and Uri, and two grandchildren: Roy and Maayan. Following military service in the parachute brigade, he studied at the Hebrew University, first in the Joseph Saltiel Center for Pre-Academic Studies (Mechina), and going on to earn a BA in Sociology and Business Studies, and an Executive MBA in Business Administration.

Ram has been working at the Hebrew University for the past 27 years in various senior position, having served as Director of the Office of the University President and, immediately prior to becoming Director of the Division for Advancement and External Relations, as the University’s Financial Controller.

Ram also volunteers his services in different bodies at the University:  He is the Chairman of the Steven Spielberg Jewish Film Archive, a member of the Board of Managers of the Cosell Sport Center at the University, among others.

In October 2019, he graduated from the first cohort of the new prestigious program of the Israeli Council for Higher Education: “Leadership in Academia”.

Ram is married to Racheli and they have 3 children.
